NJ winters destroy poorly built concrete and masonry. Freeze-thaw cycles crack improperly mixed concrete, sinking sidewalks become trip hazards (and homeowner liability), and unrepaired brick wicks moisture into your foundation. At 1 All American Roofing LLC, we install and repair concrete walkways, sidewalks, bluestone steps, retaining walls, paver patios, and brick masonry across Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge, and the rest of Middlesex, Union, and Somerset counties. Our crews use proper subgrade preparation, rebar, control joints, and air-entrained concrete mixes rated for the Northeast climate.
Every job comes with a transparent written estimate, all required permits, and our workmanship warranty. We pull permits with your municipality, coordinate any sidewalk inspections required by the township, and dispose of all demo debris.

Why Concrete Fails in NJ — and How We Prevent It
Most failed concrete in NJ wasn't poured wrong on the surface — it failed underneath. The two killers are: (1) improper subgrade compaction, which lets the slab sink unevenly within a year or two, and (2) using non-air-entrained concrete that can't survive freeze-thaw cycles. We compact subgrade in 4" lifts with a plate compactor, install proper crushed-stone base, set rebar or wire mesh on chairs (not pushed in after the pour), and use 4,000 PSI air-entrained mix rated for the Northeast. Control joints are saw-cut at the right depth and spacing, and we cure the slab properly with curing compound — not just plastic sheeting.
